Mayor Rodstrom, a leader in Broward County for more than 30 years, brings with him a business perspective necessary for the administration of a $3.5 billion County budget. His record of public service began as a City Commissioner, next as Mayor Pro-Tem, then as Vice Mayor of the City of Fort Lauderdale.
Following his term with the City of Fort Lauderdale, he was appointed Mayor of the City of Sunrise. He has been serving as a Broward County Commissioner since 1992, as well as Vice Chair in 1994/95 and Chair in 1995/96 and 2000/01. From 2010-2011, Mayor Rodstrom served as Vice Mayor of the Broward County Commission and currently serves as Mayor through 2012.
Mayor Rodstrom graduated from Ft. Lauderdale High School in 1970. He furthered his education at Columbia University in New York and graduated with a BA in Political Science and went on to receive his Law Degree from Nova Southeastern University.
